Flower Tips
Order flowers direct from the delivering florist. Save money when buying flowers, by directly contacting a florist in the area they are to be sent. Sending orders through floral services can cost as much as 30%, effectively changing a $100.00 order to a $70.00 order. Even if you had to pay the long distance fees, you would receive better value by ordering direct.
Place the order early. This will provide the florist with time to order any special flowers or accessories you have requested. Most florists can usually guarantee same day delivery for orders placed by noon.
Supply detailed information. It is vitally important that you provide the florist with accurate, detailed information regarding the name and address of the person to whom you are sending flowers. Providing a physical address and a phone number (the florist can contact the recipient if necessary) will usually suffice. However, if the flowers are being delivered to a business or hospital, more information, such as department, work hours, floor, room number, etc., may be required.
Keep the order relatively simple. When placing an order for delivery in another city, it is usually wise to keep the order simple. The less specific you are in your request, the less room for error.
Ask the florist for suggestions. The florist with whom you are placing the floral order will have many wonderful suggestions. Allowing the florist to suggest something for delivery often results in more value for your dollar.
Carefully consider delivery date. When placing an order for holidays, consider having the flowers delivered immediately prior to the holiday instead of on the actual day. This is often exciting for the recipient who may not be expecting flowers prior to the holiday. It is also beneficial in helping the florist ensure that all orders are delivered promptly and correctly
